On October 26, 2014, "Phantom Swing" Chen Ben's oil painting art tour exhibition (Guangzhou) opened at Maya Art Gallery.
This exhibition is an integral part of the solo exhibition of oil painter Chen Ben's global tour. Phantom Swing" oil painting exhibition is a concentrated manifestation of the artist's artistic achievements, the exhibition has been through Toronto, Canada, Paris, the Left Bank and other places, by the world of connoisseurs and collectors of universal praise. Today, he returns to his hometown - Guangzhou for the exhibition, specially for the hometown people to offer a total of more than thirty pieces of oil paintings created by the artist over the years.
Chen Ben does not stick to the cultural limitations of one time and place. He combines the oriental elements of lotus and goldfish with the traditional western art of oil painting. The use of canvas and pigment, but painted ink painting, is a different way of artistic exploration, but also formed a unique artistic style. Chen Ben told the reporter that he was good at oil painting techniques, and loved the mood of ink painting, and thought about how to integrate the two. By chance, he saw the lotus in the slanting sun in the Summer Palace, and was deeply moved, and from then on, he could not stop creating works with the theme of "lotus". After continuous attempts, Chen Ben's style of painting lotus gradually precipitated. With the thick oil painting carrier, he utilizes the ink painting technique, which has no "extinction point", to express the lotus which is clear, translucent, and dynamic. A marvelous "chemical reaction" occurs as a result of this confrontation.
The reporter was informed that the works of this exhibition are not only displayed, but also accept the collection of art lovers, the price of the paintings is about RMB 50,000 per square meter. According to the Maya Art Gallery responsible person Ms. Ye introduced, Chen Ben's oil paintings in the foreign market is more well-known, the market price is slightly higher than the domestic.
