show one's true colors
The paintings here do not have pure techniques, it is difficult to distinguish between schools and styles, but the imagery is clear. The paintings are transparent and straightforward, with one brushstroke and one stroke all flowing naturally, simple and clear, and the true colors of the paintings are fully revealed.
These paintings are from a special group of people, a group that is easily noticed and easily ignored. Concerned by the difficulties of their lives. Neglected, their special artistic talent. Their physical deficiencies, however, highlight the purity of art. They express themselves honestly, paint with their "true colors" and communicate with their "true colors".
All the creators of this exhibition have a common identity: the students of the Guangzhou "Help the Disabled Spread Their Wings" Volunteer Service Program. Since the start of the class in 2013, the students and teachers have been working tirelessly, regardless of rain, wind, cold and summer, to make today's exhibition a success. We are thankful for the establishment of the volunteer program, the good learning of the students, the teaching of the trainers, and the support of the teachers.
As the old saying goes: "Deep heart to ho Su, embrace the view of the past and present". With the mind of the sea and the sky, to view the ancient and modern elegant things, with the calligraphy and pen and ink, to send life's ghost thoughts; from the technology into the Tao, the art garden fragrant. God's injustice to the special youth, I have no words to say too much, after all, there are so many kind-hearted people to support them to play their talent, thank you! To all the creators in the exhibition and special youths with similar experiences, I would like to say, since God has given you a different body, open your mind and let it go. Use the pens in your hands, use your different minds, show talent and spirituality to reach the peak of your artistic life, and make the future of your life all the more special!
I wish the benefit exhibition a great success!

The unveiling ceremony of the exhibition was held by Zhai Yunzhi, deputy director of the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace, Chen Ben, artist, Zhang Hanyuan, deputy secretary general of the Guangzhou Youth Development Foundation, and He Feiyue, a caring person, who each held a piece of jigsaw puzzle to complete the exhibition's promotional posters, symbolizing the efforts of all parties in the community to pay attention to the growth of special groups of young people, and help people with disabilities to integrate into the society with the best of intentions.
The works in this exhibition do not have complex art skills, not to mention the obvious genre style, the brush strokes are simple and straightforward, the technique is childish, and the feelings are sincere.
The exhibitors all have a common identity: students of the art class of the Guangzhou "Help the Disabled Spread Their Wings" Volunteer Service Program. The Guangzhou "Help the Disabled Spread Their Wings" Volunteer Service Program is a public charity program managed by the Guangzhou Volunteer Art Troupe and relying on the daily operation of the Guangzhou Youth Cultural Palace, aiming to provide young people with disabilities with the opportunity to realize their dreams of art, of which the public welfare art class is one of the sub-programs.
Let's take a look at the art students in the program through the lens of the camera!
For a long time, many organizations that help the disabled in the society have been focusing on the life skills training and survival ability of the special groups, often ignoring the artistic talents of the special youths, and cultivating them only as a kind of hobby to improve the quality of life. As a project to help people with disabilities realize their artistic dreams, the "Help the Disabled Spread Their Wings" volunteer service project, from its inception, has taken advantage of its own strengths to explore a unique way to help special youth integrate into society. By organizing painting exhibitions and charity sales, the artistic talents of special youths have gained the attention of the society and the recognition of the market, making it a path for them to integrate into the society and survive.
As a parent of a participant said, if it were not for this exhibition, I would not have known that my child's paintings could be noticed and recognized by so many people, and that there would be people willing to buy them, which is really exciting and surprising to me. Indeed, not only parents but also the society underestimates the artistic talents of special groups. Because of special physical reasons, their ability to understand and express art is more unique than that of the general population, and often brings unexpected artistic effects. If they are guided and taught, they are capable of creating beautiful works of art.
(P.S. Thanks to Guangdong Radio and Television Modern Education Channel and other cooperative media such as Guangzhou Daily for their serious coverage of this event)

With the support of artist Ben Chan, the exhibition was held in a venue, while Ms. Ho Fei-yue, a caring person, collected various art supplies for the special youths to support them to continue painting in the future.
