The local peasants felt very strange about Van Gogh. At the end of the year, Van Gogh, who had been scorched by the sun for nearly a year, could no longer endure its heat, and an irrepressible restlessness filled his soul. With a razor in his hand, he paraded through the fields. His friend Gauguin was beside him at the moment, and he rushed towards him.But he flinched under Gauguin's cool gaze, and suddenly he lifted his right ear! His brother secretly commissioned a dealer to buy a painting for £4 in order to encourage his brother and let him know that someone liked his work.

Today, in Van Gogh's hometown of Zendt, Netherlands, hundreds of miles of land on both sides of the highway are planted with sunflowers to welcome the large number of tourists from all over the world who come to visit Van Gogh every year. The town of Zendt honors the great painter, who infused sunflowers with human blood, in a special way that is unique in the world.

Van Gogh was born on March 30, 1853, in Zendt, in the north of the Netherlands, into a family of priests, and from an early age he was withdrawn, reticent and shy. he went to school from the age of eleven to sixteen, and then worked for his uncle's company, Goupil, for three years, and then spent two more years in London, traveling to many countries and cities. at the age of eighteen, van Gogh already had aspirations to be a good painter, and none of the members of his family approved of his work, except his younger brother, who understood and supported him. Only his younger brother understood and supported him. He once said to his brother Theo: "I have a strong urge to paint ......"

He initially studied under the Hague painter Mouffe, and in the course of his studies he became interested in the art of the Dutch painter Rembrandt and the French painters Delacroix and Millet, and realized the close relationship between art and life.

In Arles, in the south of France, he met a group of Impressionist painters, came into contact with the works of many well-known painters, and was deeply influenced by Impressionism and Japanese printmaking.

Van Gogh never seemed to paint noble subjects, and what came into his picture were mostly mundane flowers-such as sunflowers, which he painted again and again. He said, "I have no other desire than to paint country life. "

The painting shows a family of peasants sitting around a small table, the house is small and simple, under the dim kerosene lamp, the family is working hard, and the dinner they enjoy afterward is only a few potatoes. The painting conveys Van Gogh's deep affection for the poor. After painting, Van Gogh felt that all the scenes of time were beautiful.

Van Gogh never knew he was a genius, he didn't even dare to call himself a painter. His only artistic confidant was his brother, who was a painter. When he thought he had painted the most outstanding works on earth, the lonely Van Gogh chose death to end his boundless loneliness. Van Gogh's greatest happiness in his life may be to have a brother who understands him and supports him, and who can support him throughout his life. He could not manage money, his brother sent him money every month, generally he spent half a month, his brother had no choice but to change to half a month by mail once, and later changed to three times a month by mail.

It is remarkable that Van Gogh, despite living near the poverty line all his life, never gave up painting for other lucrative endeavors. His brother, Theo, was Van Gogh's only financial supporter, as well as his only artistic supporter. Theo was a great connoisseur of art, and always considered his brother's work to be first-rate masterpieces, which he kept in a dedicated collection.

Now, 100 years after his death, the Netherlands, where he was born, and France, where he committed suicide, are competing to recognize Van Gogh as one of their own nationals by building grandiose art museums in his honor. Van Gogh's wish was that "someday I will find a café to exhibit my work", but now his paintings are largely found in high profile galleries.
