I often hear people complaining that Guangzhou is as barren as a desert in terms of culture and art, and lacks a space where people can relax and cultivate their minds and bodies. In fact, Guangzhou's art exhibition halls have gradually increased over the years.
But perhaps they have the same reality as the old Canton, and often carry a strong flavor of life. They break the unusual definition of art gallery, more of a kind of existence between art and the city, perhaps hidden in the vegetable market side, in the noisy old town, in the abandoned factory buildings.
Thanks to such an existence, more people can step out of the humdrum of life, draw nourishment from art, and rethink the meaning of life.

Pillar Gallery
Watching with interest all the happenings in the market, and being surprised that I could still hear the voice of the sausage vermicelli vendor, the van master suddenly suspended his conversation with the old woman and turned his head, saying, "The No. 10 compound is just down here, ah, it's just a short walk in from here."
Through a patch of shade, a red brick colored chimney stood out quite prominently, followed by a white wall of grainy-touch concrete. The wall had a short name on it, and that was it.
Pillar's predecessor was a dilapidated coal-burning factory, in the process of remodeling to retain the original structure, cement white walls, red brick chimneys, but instead of a different sense of beauty.
The long staircase corridor that leads to the main door extends to the second floor, where light is cast from the skylight, creating a sense of calm mystery and a quietness that "dare not speak aloud".
The functional design accommodates more public spaces with openness and public participation, such as an open rooftop with a wide view on the top floor, public landscaped courtyards, and the possibility of static exhibitions, cultural activities, lectures, concerts, and so on.
The skylight's ingenuity allows the elements of light, life, texture, sound, time, space and color to collide and merge with each other.
A lot of white space, giving life a relaxed posture, more space for reverie.
I happened to come across an exhibition of the little angels' paintings. Bold use of colors, wild images, no matter whether the composition is strict or not, you can already imagine the children's faces full of innocence when they were painting.
Away from the hustle and bustle for a moment, where white claims and minimalist structures give you healing in body and mind.
Kuiyuan 1922 Art Museum
Dongshankou, the old town that carries the history of Yangcheng, still retains many ancient small houses. Behind every seemingly quiet house, there is a wonderful story.
Kui Yuen, is no exception.
The busy stone-paved lanes are punctuated by modern buses and old-fashioned bicycles, camera-carrying young men brushing past grandpas with their dogs, and one or two phrases of well-spoken Mandarin popping up from time to time in the pleasing Cantonese dialect.
Located at the crossroads, this old house quietly listens to the seasons and the iterations of life.
After more than ninety years of wind and rain, Kuiyuan was once an old private house that had been vacant for many years. After undergoing restoration and revitalization, it was reopened to the public for free in 2012, and has become a cultural and artistic space integrating an art space, a gallery, a fashionable experience, and a café.
Passing through the lush green cattails and green bamboo on both sides, stepping onto the stone path, it seems as if you can hear the prosperity of the past years.
Creakily pushing open the red lacquered wooden door, on the first floor is the Kuiyuan Art Gallery. A quiet art space in the middle of the downtown area of the old city, it is a gallery where everyone can come in and visit.
The first floor of the art gallery is divided into many small exhibition halls. This time, I happened to come across Mr. Huang Liyan's solo exhibition - Fronts, the painting style is grotesque and twisted, as if expressing the author's dissatisfaction and accusation against the real world.
Hitching a ride on the wooden textured hand-raised staircase, the wooden carved fish swimming in the corner of the staircase and hand-burned vintage flower tiles, you will be transformed into a broad young man of Dongshan in the Republic of China in a well-dressed suit and wearing a gold silk mirror.
You may not realize that there is a small souvenir area hidden in the stairwell, with hand-stitched coin purses and postcards printed by different artists, which are fun and interesting.
second floorPlaySERIOUSIt is an independent designer brand buyer's store with unique style. Push open the door and be surprised to find that floral tiles and metallic colors, fashion and vintage can also coexist in the same room.
The clothing and accessories on display are all interesting and carefully selected by fashion buyers, so not only can you satisfy your own buying desires, but you may also find something you want for your friends.
Wander to the third floor and you'll find a self-proclaimed "hidden art gallery"...PlaySERIOUS CaféThe café is a small and chic one at first glance: a minimalist design in white color. At first glance, it looks like a chic cafe with a minimalist design in white, but I don't know where the "art gallery" comes in.
Once seated, you realize that surprising little touches are hidden in the tables: a small piece of photography is hidden in each seat. If you're curious, sit down and savor the owner's little delights.
After strolling through the exhibition, why not order a cup of coffee and share an exquisite dessert with your friends? Quietly reflecting on the paintings you have just admired, a leisurely afternoon slips away.
ART11
ART11 is also tucked away in a Republican-style courtyard building, quietly carrying out the"Infiltrating art into buildings, neighborhoods, nature, and education into life."The idea.
The manager has been quietly supporting original handmade artists, creating an independent exhibition space for them, organizing regular exhibitions, creative bazaars, sharing sessions, art salons, etc., providing a stage for people with dreams and talents to make their voices heard.
Passing through the red brick and green, the door to the vintage opens to reveal theEach room is unique.
The floor-to-ceiling bookcases against the wall are a paradise for art lovers. Read quietly in the diffuse light coming in through the window, and enjoy the coziness of slowing down with joy.
Push open another door. The opulence of courtism comes to the forefront, as if staggering into a time tunnel and traveling back to the time of Louis XIV."TheHELLOVINTAGE"The theme exhibition makes extensive use of colors such as gold, yellow and silver as well as intricate floral patterns to render baroque splendor.
In addition to occasional art exhibitions, ART11 will have nightlyMovie SalonIt was held as scheduled. The screening room is small and cozy, where you can meet friends with common interests, share a movie, talk about art, and jerk off your cat, a good evening is generally like this.
ART23 Contemporary Art Museum
When I approached ART23, I was attracted by its distinctive porch. Unfortunately, the weather on the day of the visit was not good, everywhere was wet and gloomy, the transparent glass would probably go better with a sunny day.
Inside is a small courtyard with paintings leaning against the wall to dry. The art gallery is small, converted from a small three-story residential building.
ART23's identity is not only an art exhibition hall, but also an open platform for art studios and academic seminars and exchanges.Dedicated to the promotion and advancement of avant-garde and new art, and the promotion of international art exchanges.
FEI ARTS / Title Museum
The title is probably the best part of the trip.habitual residenceThe strongest and one of the favorite pavilions of Iijun himself. The pavilion is built right next to the vegetable market and fully integrates the traditional culture, lifestyle, natural environment and interaction with people in Guangfu.
Founded in 2006, Crown Art Gallery has made great contributions to the development of local art in Guangzhou over the past ten years, and has cultivated and supported a number of local artists.
Mr. Song DongThrough a wallFences without boundariesIn addition, the art gallery is placed in the community, and it can be said that the whole community is an art gallery. Here, you can appreciate that art is no longer high above, but rather a grounded existence, so that art has really entered the daily life of the people.
Although Mr. Song Dong's solo exhibition at the Crown Art Museum will end on August 30th, this gallery will remain permanently, so if you want to enjoy it, you can come here anytime.
New activities added on top of this"Forgetfulness Tea", with many health care slogans featuring Cantonese characteristics written on the wooden window panes, and quite a Hong Kong style nostalgia when the neon lights are on.
Bustling crowds of people continue to appear and disappear here, and from time to time there are aunts carrying baskets of vegetables, holding children's fathers were attracted by the "case", stopped to watch.
Old tape recorders, telephones, rusty iron pots, vintage mouthpieces, these old antiques and old things of the old generation, changed to a place of presentation, seems to be tainted with a little artistic flavor.
On the negative floor of the Casement Museum, a special area has been divided for the sale ofFreitagThe bag, for those who are interested, can feel the unique feel of Freitag in person.
When you are stuck in the trouble, you may want to come to the case study to take a stroll. Look at the old artifacts from your mom and dad's era, and experience the most genuine joy of the poor era with your heart.
concrete jungle
The rush of feet, the endless pursuit of material things
It makes life more and more dull and boring
Actually, slow down.
What's the harm in being slow with everything around you?
Quietly enjoying a beautiful piece of lyrics that
Try immersing yourself in an exhibition of paintings.
Listen sideways to the vendors' calls.
In the intertwined immersion of artistic atmosphere and smoldering
Learning to reconcile with our true inner selves.
Keep carrying the weight.
